I am an Educational Consultant with a focus on Early Literacy. My background is 1st grade, Reading Recovery, Master Teacher (K-2), ESL, 4th grade, Literacy Specialist, ELA Instructional Coach (6-8),Educational Support Specialist (PreK-12), Curriculum and Instruction Consultant for Region 10 Education Service Center, and Faculty Instructor for Collin College. I have a B.S. from Abilene Christian University, M.Ed. in Reading from Texas A&M-Commerce, and my Principal Certification. I am currently an Ed.D. candidate at Southwestern College in Kansas. I have been married to my husband, Lee, for 22 years. He works for a mobile app company here in Dallas, so I rely on him a lot to help me with tech stuff!
We have a beautiful 17-year-old daughter, Eden, who is currently in her Senior year in high school and was recently admitted to my alma mater, Abilene Christian University. (Go, Wildcats!) I have completed 7 marathons (5 Dallas White Rock Marathons, 1 New York Marathon, and 1 Chicago Marathon). I ran the New York Marathon to celebrate my 5-year breast cancer-free mark. I am now a 14 year Survivor! I am so thankful to God for healing me and carrying through that storm. Speaking of God…my faith in God is extremely important to me, so my blog will include a mix of all my passions…education, reading, running, and faith.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and reflections!
